Settings Reference

A guide to every setting in Yako.

General

  • Language — Yako supports 42 languages. Changes apply to the entire interface.
  • Dark mode — System (follows OS), Enable, Disable, or Auto (based on time of day).
  • Tab favicon — Custom URL for the browser tab icon.
  • Tab title — Custom text for the browser tab title.

Backgrounds

  • Type — Choose between solid color, local files, or local videos.
  • Blur — Adjusts the blur intensity on the background (0-25).
  • Brightness — Adjusts the brightness of the background (0-1).

Quick Links

  • Toggle — Show or hide the quick links widget.
  • Style — Large, medium, small, inline, or text.
  • Links per row — Number of links displayed per row.
  • Open in new tab — Whether clicks open in the current or a new tab.
  • Show titles — Toggle link title text below icons.
  • Show backgrounds — Toggle the background behind link icons.

Clock

  • Style — Digital or analog.
  • Show seconds — Display seconds on the clock.
  • 12-hour format — Switch between 12 and 24 hour display.
  • Size — Adjust the clock size.
  • Timezone — Override the default timezone.
  • World clocks — Add clocks for additional time zones.

Greetings

  • Name — Your name for personalized greetings.

Notes

  • Toggle — Show or hide the notes widget.
  • Alignment — Left, center, or right.
  • Width — Adjust the note widget width.
  • Background opacity — Transparency of the note background.

Page Layout

  • Page width — Maximum width of the page content.
  • Page gap — Spacing between widgets.
  • Layout editor — Drag and rearrange widgets on the page.

Custom CSS

A full CSS editor with syntax highlighting. Your CSS is applied on top of the default styles. See CSS Snippets for examples.

Settings Management

  • Export — Download your settings as a JSON file.
  • Import — Load settings from a JSON file.
  • Copy — Copy settings JSON to clipboard.
  • Reset — Reset all settings to defaults.
